Pikes Peak Security follows certain curriculum for NRA Classes and the American Safety & Health Institute, but we can also offer private instruction for those in need. Finally, because we are a security provider, we offer industry specific training courses from nationally accredited organizations for businesses and individual’s needing to become certified. The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation and is available for delivery in two ways. One option is the traditional, instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. The other option has two components: a self-study or “eLearning module” which is completed online in your own timeframe and a hands-on practical portion conducted in a classroom and shooting range with an Instructor.
Course Goal: Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. The NRA CCW Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and may be conducted in a classroom and on a shooting range with an Instructor.
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.
While other programs focus solely on active shooters or stop the bleed training, our unique AVERT training goes beyond by combining both of these important topics in one training program. Having situational awareness and training during an active shooter situation will not only save lives but will help you to understand how to assist in a time of distress. Coupling this with bleed training you will have all the tools you need to assist those around you.
